HIGHLIGHTS FROM PAST EVENTS

SEMINAR: Right Hand Picking Efficiency Boost

The weak spot for most electric guitar players is their right hand. And this for a simple reason: most people simply never watch their right hand when practicing! They keep their eyes glued on the left hand so that they won't play any wrong note.

As a result, the right hand of most players is in a sub-optimal shape, trying to pick as fast as possible from an incorrect and tense position. It would be much easier for them to correct their position so that they could play faster with less effort.

To help our students find this position and solidify it in their playing we have organized the Right Hand Picking Efficiency Boost. Now those extreme metal licks will be inside your reach! This seminar contains some great tips and exercises on how to train for maximum speed - because speed is fun!

You can see some excerpt from the seminar in the video below.

SEMINAR: Rhythm Essentials: African Percussions with William Mitchell

Rhythm is THE most important element of music. In fact it is quite difficult to create any music without rhythm. Rhythm is also an overlooked topic whenever studying an instrument: there are too many things to focus on (technique, notes, theory...) so that sometimes rhythm get sacrificed.

To counter that, we had an idea: what can we do to have our students to focus ONLY on rhythm? Well, the obvious answer is: we have them play a percussion instrument! So we enlisted the help of percussionist extraordinaire William "Bill" Mitchell to organize the Rhythm Essentials: African Percussions Seminar.

The seminar was a success from all points of view: our students had fun and they learned a lot! You can see some highlights from the seminar in the video below.

SEMINAR: Electric Guitar Left Hand Extreme Workout

Stamina is an important element for a guitar players left hand. Being able to play in legato without getting tired, or play chords with a finger stretch, or fast trills are all important skills to have for a modern guitar player.

In this seminar we share with you some "secret" training techniques that will help you get a more agile yet strong left hand. Be warned though: this is not a seminar for people who do not want to work hard. The exercises we are going to show are going to stretch (pun intended) your resistance.

You can see in the video below the reactions of our students to the exercises we were showing them.

SEMINAR: Guitar Technique Optimization Seminar

You have only 15 minutes to practice today. What should you practice? How are you going to warm up? what kind of exercises do you choose?

To answer this and other questions that we often get from our students, we organized the Guitar Technique Optimization Seminar. In it we give a hands-on approach of how to optimize your guitar practice in order to make it more fun, less repetitive, more effective. Engage your brain, not only your fingers!

See what the participants to the seminar thought of it in the video below!

SEMINAR: Change Your Strings!

"I broke a string on my guitar what should I do?"

This is one of the most common questions we get from our students. The first thing is : DON'T PANIC! :-) It is normal for strings to break every now and then. The second thing is to know how to change the broken string. It is not difficult to do, but there are some things you want to know in advance so that you are going to do a good job, and also not hurt yourself! Those metal strings can pierce your skin.

To help our students learn how to change their strings we have organized the Change Your Strings! seminar, where we lead them through the easy process of taking off the old strings and putting on new ones. Why pay a luthier for something you can do by yourselves in less time?

You can see some highlight of the seminar on the video below.

SEMINAR: Begin to Sing! with Amanda Neufeld

Did you always dream to be able to sing, but you don't know were to start? In the Begin to Sing! seminar, Stirling-nominated theatre artist Amanda Neufeld shows you how to start training your voice in a simple and understandable way. Breathing exercises, warming up routines, and singing tips are explained in a way accessible to the absolute beginner.

You can check out a sample of the seminar by clicking on the video below.
