PLAYING ALL TOGETHER!
At Edmonton Guitar Music School we strongly believe that Music is a Team-Sport. It is much more fun when we play in a group. Look at these guys playing together! There are 9 kids on the stage with different instruments. For four of them it was the very first performance in front of an audience!

A group of our Students played together fun songs like "Bad Moon Rising" to "Norwegian Wood" and "Voodoo Child". Some of them even performed their own compositions.

HAPPY FACES!
Music at EGMS is FUN and smiling students of any age show it just right.Celeste has been around to our concerts since she could reach a piano keyboard. Every time we ask how she feels about playing on stage she says "Gooood!", yes with 4 o's!!
Alex is now a step closer to becoming a rock-star! His idols are bands like Metallica, AC/DC and such, he is a rock guy through and through!
Audrey initially was unsure about playing in front of other people, but then she started coming to our Performance Workshops and now she is on stage at every Concert!
Mikolaj was on stage for the first time at the March 2020 Concert, and it looks like the stage is just the place for him!
FOCUSED FACES
Playing an instrument really whisks the performer away... in these pictures it almost seems that the students forgot about the world around them to fly in another dimension where only Music rules!Maximus played in this Concert for the first time and he played 3 different songs! He is always early for class and eager to learn with a great attitude.
In less that a year Amiya learned so much and felt brave enough to come on stage! Her teachers are very proud of what her practice has accomplished and for good reason.
Calla is a quiet little girl off stage... but on stage she performed like a pro! She is always diligent and practices her lessons... and we can see the results!
TEACHERS HELPING THE STUDENTS
Setting up a stage is never easy especially if you are a novice. In the first performances a bit of stage fright is always lurking, but here comes the teacher that checks everything and makes sure that the student is comfortable and everything is working smoothly!Setting up the microphone at the right distance from the singer is key to get a good performance!
Checking that all the cables are attached and that the volume of the guitar is up.
Picking the right tone for your guitar really helps you shine during a performance.
STUDENTS AND TEACHER PLAYING TOGETHER!
Kamil, our bass and guitar teacher, doesn't even entertain the idea of playing solo. Here he is playing play with Raphael (guitar), Rob (piano), Ted (bass), and our good friend and pro drummer Joe!
Our Teacher Bailey is singing "Dreams" by Fleetwood Mac (not an easy song if you ask me!), assisted by Keegan and Mike.
STUDENTS SINGING AND PLAYING!
It was the first time on stage for Kimberley. She wanted to go up by herself to play AND sing at the same time. And she nailed it! What a huge feat for a first time performance!!
Warren is one of our long-timers, rocking the stage at our concerts for a few years now! He really likes his acoustic guitar and always choses less known songs. Here we get to know more about the Canadian culture of folk-music!
Chris and Rob are performing at the guitar in this picture, but they also study piano with us! And yes, they performed on both instruments at this concert!
LET'S NOT FORGET OUR BASS STUDENTS!
Bass players tell me they are a species to themselves, and proud of it! Well we are proud of them too. Not only they are doing a great job, they are a pretty numerous gang too.
Our teachers are very impressed with Mike (here playing with Keegan at the guitar) and how much he has improved in his playing since he started with us!
Charlie is our youngest bass student, but he's a natural on stage. He started some years ago with electric guitar and now plays both instruments!
Ted started with us with us as a complete beginner. He is always up to the challenge and happy to learn anything - as long as it's good music!
STUDENTS AT THE PIANO!
Piano students during their performances! Stylish, concentrated, dressed up for the occasion and great in the execution of their piece!
THESE GUYS LOOK COOL WITH THOSE GUITARS, DON'T THEY?
Rhythm or lead, Ron is always excited to learn something new, collaborate with other students, and push his limits!
Raphael did a 180 degree turn from finger picking style to rock! This is the fun of playing guitar, you can change style and type of instrument whenever you feel so. The possibilities are endless!
Brooklyn is showing off her super stylish white acoustic guitar. And she can really play it too!
David is not only a good player. He also builds guitars! We had the pleasure of trying a couple of them, and they sound great!
